In late spring 2017, all childcare and play providers will be required to complete Self Assessment of Service Statement (SASS) part two. This information helps us to monitor your compliance with the Child Minding and Day Care (Wales) Regulations 2010. (External link)
What you need to do to prepare for SASS part two
Part two includes completing a Quality of Care Review. You now need to start preparing for completing your SASS part two in late spring.
We have published guidance to help you. It is important that you read it.
We have developed a template for you to use for your Quality of Care Review. The template is optional, but for consistency we strongly recommend that you use it.
You will need to upload this along with other policy documents when you complete your SASS in late spring. We will write to you when you can upload and complete your SASS online.
I did not complete or submit SASS part one, what do I need to do?
In late spring 2017, you must complete SASS parts one and two using CSSIW Online. (External link) You are required by law to complete a self assessment and an annual review of the quality of care at your service.
For more information about preparing for SASS part one, please visit our SASS page.
If you have any questions about preparing for SASS, please contact your local sector organisation: Wales PPA, NDNA, PACEY, Play Wales, Clybiau Plant Cymru Kids' Clubs , Mudiad Meithrin and local Family Information Services (FIS).
